Barrymores (first demo)

It wasn’t always a nightmare. In fact, it used to be a lot of fun until one day I woke up in the hospital. But, that’s not what this song is about. This song is about a celebration in New Orleans that I like to call “The Great Garden Escape”. I actually only started calling it that when the phrase jumped out of my brain during the lyric writing for this song. I usually come up with a melody first and then sing gibberish or “word salad” until a phrase jumps out of my subconscious and that’s what ends up being the foundation of the lyrics.
